Girls With Roots announces a change in its strategic direction beginning March 2017.
Girls With Roots began in 2014 with an idea for a Caribbean magazine. As time rolled on, that idea quickly evolved and Girls With Roots became an organization filled with promise for truly redefining the Caribbean girl and woman.
After much trial and error, Girls With Roots launched its signature Conference for Girls called Pretty Powerful in Trinidad.
Since 2015, we have been working to make a difference in the lives of women and girls. We have hosted workshops and mixers for young professionals and have worked with girls between the ages of 10 and 19.
We also initiated a mentorship program which would connect adolescents with Caribbean women.
However, realizing a need for a greater impact, Girls With Roots shifted its strategic focus and will now be more intentional in its mission to empower Caribbean girls. We will do this by focusing on Education, Design, Development and Collaboration. These four areas will inform all that Girls With Roots does and is.
We are extreemly grateful for the support we've received thus far but more importantly, for the assistance from Volunteers who have beleived in the vision of Girls With Roots and who have given of their time and sometimes finances to see that Girls relaize their dream and become Caribbean women who will change our world.
