Meet Victoria

“No one is you, and that is your power.” 

Victoria has a fierce belief in individuality and embracing one’s ‘imperfections’ and quirks. She also shares a passion for style, mental health, self development but more so, inspiring women and creating change.

Victoria graduated from the University of the West Indies Mona in 2014 with a BA in Integrated Marketing Communications. Where she focused on Digital, Social and Behavioural Change and Traditional Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising and Graphic and Web Design. After university, she returned to Barbados where she worked in advertising agencies honing her skills in digital strategy, production, copywriting, content creation and brand development.

Girl Guides was the first organisation Victoria joined which ignited her passion for female empowerment and serving her community. She then joined YES (Youth Empowered to Succeed) where she travelled to Florida with a group of other Barbados ambassadors. At 16, she and a close friend created the group V.O.I.C.E.S which focused primarily on HIV/Aids awareness. Their work caught the attention of not only the then Minister of Family, Youth, Sports and Environment, Dr. Ester Byer-Suckoo who adopted the group under her mercer, but by the Emerging Global Leaders of Barbados. After an invitation they formed a partnership and eventually V.O.I.C.E.S merged with EGLB so they could tackle more than HIV/Aids awareness, but also focus on all issues affecting the youth of Barbados. Victoria also assumed leadership roles on her school Student’s Council as the 5th Year Representative and in Key Club where she served as Treasurer then President. It only took a short while for Victoria to fall in love with the idea of mentoring young girls. While studying in Jamaica, she took part in an outreach program for two years which did just that. In 2015 she began working with GWR as their Social Media Manager. And she is currently a mentor at I Am A girl Barbados. 

Alongside her love for inspiring women and creating change is her love for food and fashion! She is a foodie at heart and is also known for her bold fashion statements and colorful natural hairstyles. Victoria’s easy-going personality and open mindedness makes her a joy to be around and work with, and that sense of humor, oh boy! She is a true gem - confident, graceful, quirky, free-spirited and always open to adventure.
