Dear Girl, Don't You Ever Forget
This is for the girl who smiled at her reflection in the mirror but as soon as she stepped outside her door, felt the eyes of young men and women strip her bare of her confidence.
“I’m not pretty enough” she said.
This is for that girl who signed off her future’s success but when she got back her final exam grade, felt as low her worst expectations.
“I’m a failure” she cried.
This is for the girl who really wanted to be a part of a group, but was ostracised because she did not fit into that mold that conformity required.
“I’m too weird” she sighed.
This is for the girl who ate her meal and enjoyed it but when she looked at her reflection, needed to purge herself of the ‘poison’ she strongly believed she ate.
“I’m too fat” she complained.
This is for the girl that was abandoned by her parents, neglected by her father, forgotten by her mother and ignored by her teachers.
“I’m not wanted” she whispered.
This is for the girl who cut vents in her hand thinking that the razor was her only understanding friend.
This is for the girl that felt unloved, unappreciated, unworthy, misunderstood, confused and lied to.
